Expectant fathers

The birthfather plays an important role in the adoption plan, for several different reasons. First, your child deserves to know his/her biological history and heritage. It is a way he/she can grow up to become secure in who he/she is.  Secondly, the birthfather has a legal right to be involved. It is required by Louisiana law that his intentions be made known and legally resolved. We strongly recommend that you encourage the involvement of the birthfather so that a legally-safe adoption can take place. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding the birthfather’s role. There are answers to every question you may have regarding your individual circumstances.
